Hansi Flick explains Marcus Rashford’s lack of Barcelona game time | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an explanation for the lack of recent minutes afforded to Blaugrana star Marcus Rashford.

This comes amid concerns surrounding the Englishman’s long-term future in Catalunya’s capital.

Barcelona are currently in the midst of one of the most important stretches of their campaign, competing on all fronts.

They were recently sent packing from the Copa del Rey, but remain alive and kicking in both the La Liga title race, and the hunt for the Champions League.

When it has mattered most, however, the aforementioned Marcus Rashford has been forced to make do with a place on the bench.

In fact, after being afforded just 20 minutes against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park last week, the on-loan Manchester United man has not featured in any capacity in either of Barca’s last two outings.

Speaking to the media in his latest pre-match press conference on Saturday, Hansi Flick was therefore drawn on Rashford’s recent game time.

And the German tactician went on to explain:

“Rashford? He was suffering from some physical issues in recent days, so we were cautious in handling that and that’s why he didn’t play. He’s now ready at one hundred percent.”
