FC Barcelona were quick to get rid of their UEFA Champions League elimination sorrows as they defeated their arch-rivals Real Madrid in the league game that came right after the second leg against Inter Milan. This 4-3 win over the Merengues restored the mood of the fans and the players to a good extent.
With this win, Hansi Flick’s side once again showed its superiority over its rivals, which it has enjoyed throughout the season, as they beat them in the fourth El Clásico of this season.
In fact, with these four wins in his first four El Clásicos, Mundo Deportivo notes that Hansi Flick is already writing his name in the history books of the famed rivalry, as only Pep Guardiola has a better record than him in his first four classics.
The former Barcelona coach won all of his first five El Clásicos as the Blaugrana manager, and all of these matches were played in La Liga. Among these matches were some of the most memorable ones from recent history, including the 5-0 and 6-2 wins over Real Madrid.

On the other hand, Hansi Flick’s four matches against the Merengues have come in three different competitions. His first El Clásico as the manager of the Catalan side came last October, when he oversaw a 4-0 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The second league classic win came this last weekend, in a match that ended 4-3 in his team’s favor, despite the early 2-goal advantage that the Merengues enjoyed.
In between these two league encounters, Flick also faced Real Madrid in the finals of the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa del Rey. The former of these matches took place in Riyadh, with Barcelona coming out as 5-2 winners. The latter took place in Seville, and once again, the Blaugranes were the winners with a 3-2 scoreline in extra time.
For now, Hansi Flick would be looking to keep up his team’s superiority over the Merengue team, and beating Guardiola’s record in the process.
