Hansi Flick on Lamine Yamal’s Palestinian flag, says it is his choice | OneFootball

According to L'Équipe, Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick addressed the incident at a news conference on Tuesday. He took a measured view of Lamine Yamal brandishing a Palestinian flag during the club's title parade, noting he generally does not like such gestures.

Barcelona sealed their 29th Liga title on Sunday, their second in a row, beating Real Madrid 2-0 at Camp Nou.

During Monday's parade through the city, the 18-year-old, runner-up in last year's Ballon d'Or, was seen holding the flag from the team bus. Flick said he told Yamal it was his choice and that the forward is of age.

He added that the team dedicate themselves to playing football and must consider what supporters expect.

Reflecting on the celebrations, Flick said seeing the crowds lining the streets was an incredible feeling. He added that they are there to play football and to make people happy.
