Hansi Flick reveals his Marcus Rashford transfer message to Barcelona director Deco | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has admitted that he pushed hard for the signature of Marcus Rashford over the summer.

Frontman Rashford has for his part of course dominated the headlines across Spain over the last 24 hours.

This comes after the Englishman announced himself to the Barcelona faithful in explosive fashion.

En route to a 2-1 Champions League victory over Newcastle United, Rashford notched both of the Blaugrana’s goals, in a Man of the Match display.

After something of a hit-and-miss start to life in Catalunya’s capital, the 27-year-old, in turn, has now managed three goal contributions in his last two appearances.

And one individual who was evidently confident that such production would eventually be forthcoming on Rashford’s part ahead of his summer arrival is the aforementioned Hansi Flick.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of his side’s St. James’ Park triumph, Barca headmaster Flick explained:

“I told Deco in the summer: bring me Rashford, bring me Rashford, please… we needed a player like him.”
