Paris Saint-Germain will face Stade Brestois in the UEFA Champions League knockout phase play-off with the winner of this tie facing either Liverpool or FC Barcelona.

Ahead of their Champions League clash, PSG cruised to a 5-2 win over Brest at Stade Francis Le Blé. Ousmane Dembélé has turned into a goal-scoring machine in 2025.

Dembélé, who had only one career hat trick before last week, has now bagged two in the wins over Brest and VfB Stuttgart. He opened the scoring in the 29th minute with a composed finish after a brilliant run and cross from Bradley Barcola.

His second came in the 56th minute when he pounced on a deflection off Marco Bizot from a Fabian Ruiz shot. But it was his third that really stole the show: a clinical finish in the 62nd minute from a superb assist by Kang-in Lee.

As a result, PSG are the favorites to advance from this tie, with either Barcelona or Liverpool waiting in the wings.

Should PSG advance and match up against Barcelona for the second straight year, the Parisians will already know which goalkeeper they’d need to prepare for in this possible tie.

According to a recent report by Toni Juanmarti in SPORT, Wojciech Szczęsny has earned the starting goalkeeper role at Barcelona over Inaki Peña mainly because of his vast experience.

Hansi Flick has made it clear that Szczęsny is his current top choice. While several factors contributed to the decision, the change in goal wasn’t solely based on sporting reasons.

Flick has taken Peña’s performances into account, noting that while he played well, he didn’t come up with the crucial saves at key moments.
