Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has this week provided an insight into what he feels was the turning point in the club’s season.

Barcelona are of course fresh off keeping alive and well hopes of a historic treble.

After welcoming Borussia Dortmund to Catalunya’s capital for a Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash, the Blaugrana ran riot to the tune of an eventual 4-0 triumph.

As much means that Barca have put one foot in the semi-finals of European football’s premiere club competition.

With the Spanish Super Cup already in the bank, a finale showdown against Real Madrid to come in the Copa del Rey final, and one hand on the La Liga title, it is safe to say that the 2024/25 campaign could in turn prove to be one to remember for all of a Blaugrana persuasion.

And as alluded to above, this week, manager Hansi Flick has opened up on what he feels was the ‘turning point’ in getting Barcelona’s season back headed in the right direction.

Somewhat surprisingly, the German highlighted his side’s heartbreaking last-gasp La Liga defeat at the hands of Atlético Madrid prior to the turn of the year:

“Our loss to Atlético in December, despite the good performance, was our turning point.”
