Leeds United prospect Harry Gray is close to a season-long loan to Sheffield Wednesday, reuniting with former captain Liam Cooper.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the Owls have beaten rival League One suitors, with a deal between the clubs nearing and the 17-year-old on board.

Gray sampled senior football with Rotherham United last season, playing 20 times and scoring three, but could not prevent relegation amid managerial change and injuries.

Leeds always planned another loan for 2026/27 and opted for League One again, with Huddersfield Town also keen to take the teenager.

Wednesday are entering a new era following a takeover, despite their drop from the Championship. Gray is set to link up with Henrik Pedersen’s squad, already back in training, to build experience and aid an expected promotion push.

His older brother Archie, another Thorp Arch product, is reportedly attracting Newcastle United, with Tottenham Hotspur said to have rejected an initial offer.
