Harry Kane says England need to find missing piece after Argentina semi-final defeat | OneFootball

England’s World Cup hopes ended with a semi-final defeat to Argentina, despite leading 1-0 until the 85th minute.

They were 10 minutes from a place in the final. The changes made drew criticism of former Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel for bringing on defenders Dan Burn, Nico O'Reilly and Ezri Konsa.

After the match, England captain Harry Kane said: "The lads have given every bit of blood, sweat and tears."

He was speaking to the BBC.

"Lads were putting blocks in, but it wasn't enough. We had a lot of good moments at the tournament, a lot of good games and another semi-final."

"We're close we just need to find that missing piece late in the tournament."
