Harry Maguire signs new Manchester United deal: veteran defender commits future with one-year extension and option for another year | OneFootball

Manchester United have announced that Harry Maguire has signed a new contract to extend his stay with the club.

Maguire's deal was due to expire at the end of the current campaign, but he has now signed a one-year extension, with the option for a further year.

The 33-year-old has played an important role in the club's improvement under interim manager Michael Carrick. United have won seven of Carrick's 10 games in charge to climb into thePremier League's top three.

His form earned Maguire an England recall, for the first time since 2024, during March's international break.

Speaking to theclub's official website, Maguire said he was delighted to extend his time with the Red Devils and called representing Manchester United 'the ultimate honour'.

“Representing Manchester United is the ultimate honour. It is a responsibility that makes myself and my family proud every single day.

“I am delighted to extend my journey at this incredible club to at least eight seasons and continue to play in front of our special supporters to create more amazing moments together.

“You can feel the ambition and potential of this exciting squad. The determination throughout the whole club to fight for major trophies is clear for everyone to see and I am confident that our best moments together remain ahead of us.”

The centre-back has made 266 appearances for Manchester United since signing from Leicester City in an £80m deal in 2019. During his time at Old Trafford, Maguire has won the Carabao Cup andFA Cup.
