Harry Wilson is set to make his Fulham return against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this weekend.

The Welsh winger has not played since opening the scoring in a 2-1 win over Tottenham on March 1, having been forced off later in the same game with an ankle injury.

Wilson sat out the subsequent 1-0 defeat by West Ham at Craven Cottage and was not involved last weekend as Fulham crashed out of the FA Cup in a home fifth-round upset by Championship side Southampton.

However, head coach Marco Silva has now confirmed that the 28-year-old will be back in the fold as his 10th-place side face their third consecutive league game against relegation battlers in the form of a trip to Forest’s City Ground on Sunday, provided he comes through one last training session unscathed.

“Harry Wilson is going to be in contention,” the Fulham boss told reporters at his pre-match press conference on Friday. “We have another session tomorrow.”

Wilson’s imminent return will be a welcome relief for Fulham fans, with the former Liverpool man having been their best player this season, registering 10 goals and seven assists in 32 appearances across all competitions.

He is out of contract in west London in the summer and talks over an extension have yet to bear fruit, with transfer interest from the likes of Everton having been rebuffed late in the January transfer window.

Wilson’s fitness is also important to Wales, who host Bosnia and Herzegovina in a one-legged World Cup qualification play-off semi-final tie in Cardiff later this month, which they hope will be followed by a final against either Italy or Northern Ireland.

“I'm good,” Wilson, who has scored 17 times in 67 caps since making his senior international debut in 2013, told BBC Wales Sport this week.

“I had a bit of a knock after the Spurs game, which took a week or so to go, but I'm back training now, so I'm hoping I'll be good to go for Sunday and definitely good to go for the Wales games.”
