The midfielder's salary at the King Power Stadium has become a major talking point
Leicester City's recent fall from grace has been well-documented, as, on the 10th anniversary of the club being crowned Premier League champions, they will play their final Championship match for at least 12 months away at Blackburn Rovers.
The Foxes have plenty of critical decisions to make at the end of the campaign after suffering back-to-back relegations, meaning they will play League One football for just the second time in club history, having previously done so in 2008/09, when they won the title under Nigel Pearson at the first time of asking.
Just two years ago, Leicester were able to bounce back from a largely unexpected fall into the Championship and win silverware once more under the management of Enzo Maresca, before the Italian eventually took charge at Chelsea ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Since then, the East Midlands outfit have been under the management of four different bosses, with it expected that the current man in the hotseat, Gary Rowett, will exit the King Power Stadium swiftly after the final match of the season at Ewood Park.
Despite the club's concerning financial situation, which has since seen them docked six points due to a breach of the EFL's PSR regulations, Leicester were, by and large, expected to mount another promotion bid before the current campaign got underway in August.
However, they were relegated with two matches of the season to spare after a 2-2 draw with Hull City on April 21st, and plenty of cost-cutting is set to take place across the summer as a critical rebuild begins.
Many high-profile names and earners have become the recipients of intense criticism as a result of their on-pitch showings, with Harry Winks perhaps being the standout on this particular front.

In almost three years at the King Power following his £10m switch from Tottenham Hotspur, Winks has been through quite a lot with the Foxes.
Indeed, the box-to-box midfielder was a key performer in the club's Championship winning season under Maresca, before developments started to turn sour last season.
It was well-documented that the 10-time England international was axed from Ruud Van Nistelrooy's squad last April after a dispute between himself and the Dutchman, and Winks' fortunes haven't exactly turned for the better this term under Marti Cifuentes, Andy King and now Rowett.
Despite making 33 appearances, the 30-year-old's performance levels, alongside that of others, has seen him receive major backlash, particularly through claims from Capology - a site which ESTIMATES player earnings - that he is currently earning £90,000 per week, whilst the site also states that the Foxes have the largest wage bill in the division despite being relegated alongside Oxford United and Sheffield Wednesday.
However, in an in-depth report from the Athletic, it has now emerged that Winks earns less than half of said figure, meaning he is believed to collect less than £45,000 per week, although the actual figure is set to drop yet again after back-to-back relegations.
At the end of the current season, the Hemel Hempstead native has one year left on his current contract as an extension clause was activated in the summer of 2024.

At this point, it is hard to envisage a world in which the likes of Winks, Abdul Fatawu, Patson Daka and many others stick around in the Midlands for Leicester's first League One spell in 17 years.
During the draw with Hull which confirmed relegation, the midfielder's second-half introduction was met by a chorus of boos from the home crowd after a viral clip which surfaced after the damaging 1-0 away loss at Portsmouth three days previous, which showcased Winks having an intense verbal disagreement with a disgruntled Foxes supporter.
It would also remain to be seen if a new man in the hotseat would want to retain many of the current squad, with NEC Nijmegen boss, Dick Schreuder, recently linked with the upcoming vacancy.
