“Has added little” – Pending new Chelsea player gets 3/10 rating on his return to the pitch | OneFootball

Pending new Chelsea winger Geovany Quenda finally returned to the pitch for Sporting in the Champions League last night.

The 18-year-old has been nursing a long term injury for the last three months and he has even been in Chelsea’s Cobham training base recovering from it.

The winger will join the Blues this summer and all the talk suggests that he will come straight in and be in the first team squad.

Such a young player is bound to be very raw still though, and with the injury he’s had, nobody can expect him to be back and fully firing yet. But in Portugal, he got a poor review from his cameo appearance on as a sub against Arsenal in the Champions League last night.

Geovany Quenda was given a 3/10 rating from Portuguese outlet A Bola for his 25-minute display:

‘A gray [grey] instalment, in the city of will welcome you soon. He is still without rhythm and has added little.’

The Chelsea Chronicle added some stats to it:

‘The winger had one touch in the opposition’s box, 11 touches, completed five of eight passes, failed his only cross, made one recovery, and had one foul.’

In other news today

Chelsea are suffering as a team, and individually too. The stats for the season show a big decline in Blues performing at their best. Moises Caicedo has dropped from 6th to 66th now in one key stat.

Chelsea are looking likely to fall into the “Ten Hag Trap” of keeping Liam Rosenior even after it’s clear he’s not up to it. They’ve been warned about that this week.
