Jamal Musiala continues to be the focus of public debate and has now received a clear recommendation from Oliver Kahn. The former FC Bayern CEO and long-time international goalkeeper advises the attacking player not to take part in the upcoming World Cup

The background to this is the difficult phase Musiala is currently going through. Following his serious injury last summer, the 23-year-old is still searching for his best form. Although he celebrated his comeback at the beginning of the year, he has so far lacked his usual ease and consistency

Kahn recommends clear priority: form instead of World Cup

In the Sky program„Triple – der Hagedorn-Fußballtalk“, Kahn was clear: „He should refrain from taking part in the World Cup. If I feel that something is not right in my game, then I have to work on myself to be ready again.“

The statement underlines how sensitive the situation surrounding Musiala is. After breaking his fibula and suffering a serious ankle injury, the Bayern star had to undergo surgery and was out for several months. An injury of this magnitude often has a long-lasting effect – not only physically, but also mentally

Recently, he had to take a break of several weeks after new problems. Kahn therefore sees the priority clearly in the player himself and his development. Instead of focusing on a major tournament, Musiala should first regain his old strength

Hamann maintains his harsh assessment

Dietmar Hamann was once again critical of the Bayern professional’s situation and took a similar line: „The World Cup is not an issue for Jamal Musiala at the moment. He has to make sure he finds his form,“ explained the TV pundit

Hamann sees the remaining time until the end of the season as a particular problem. „He only has seven weeks left. Everything has to go perfectly now,“ is his assessment. The requirements for a comeback at the top level are correspondingly high – and leave little room for setbacks

The statements of the two experts clearly show how great the doubts currently are. Musiala is still regarded as one of the greatest talents in German soccer, but the road back to world class after his injury is a rocky one

Nevertheless, FC Bayern are remaining patient. Internally, the attacking player continues to enjoy great confidence and they are counting on him finding his way back to his old form step by step. However, one thing is clear: the coming weeks will be decisive in determining whether Musiala can get back on track – and whether the World Cup will become an issue for him after all.
