Hearts host Rangers in the Scottish Premiership Championship group at Tynecastle Park on Monday, 4 May 2026, with top spot and the title race firmly in focus.
Hearts top the section on 73 points, with Rangers third on 69. The sides have split the league meetings: a 2-1 home win for Hearts in December, then Rangers won 4-2 in February.
The Jambos are unbeaten in four league games, winning three, including the derby at Hibernian. Rangers put together four straight wins before a 3-2 defeat against Motherwell last time out.
The Jam Tarts have 16 clean sheets and 18 headed goals this season, so crosses and set pieces could be a route in. For attacking threats, Cláudio Braga and Lawrence Shankland have 14 and 13 league goals respectively. Rangers tend to control games, averaging 58% possession with 83.82% passing accuracy, and Youssef Chermiti leads their scoring with 12.
A home win would take the Jam Tarts to 76 points and keep them in charge of the Championship group. Victory for Rangers would move them to 72 and could pull them closer in a tight title race.
