Hebburn Town are exploring a loan return for Sunderland goalkeeper Isaac Allan ahead of their first National League North season. According to Sunderland Echo, manager Daniel Moore said the club are assessing the option of bringing back the 20-year-old.

Allan spent time with the Hornets last season after fellow Black Cats prospect Dan Cameron was recalled from a similar spell at the Trustmark Group Stadium, delivering a series of standout displays as Hebburn edged towards a shock Northern Premier League title.

Sunderland then recalled Allan days before Hebburn clinched the championship with a 2-0 home win over Rushall Olympic on the final day.

Moore is reshaping his squad for the step up, with South Shields, Darlington and Morecambe among next season’s opponents. He made his first signing on Wednesday, adding Whitby Town striker Jake Charles.

The Hebburn boss wants to work with Allan again and believes the keeper has the temperament, calmness and ability to progress to a very high level in the coming years.

If a deal is not possible, Moore hopes Allan secures a move in the National League or the EFL, adding that the youngster could build a successful professional career there.
