Hebburn Town manager Daniel Moore says he has held initial talks with Sunderland and Hartlepool United over potential loans as he prepares his squad for a first National League North campaign.

According to Sunderland Echo, Moore also hopes to explore similar discussions with Newcastle United in the coming weeks and underlined that any deals will depend on resources and the right fit.

Hebburn claimed the Northern Premier League Premier Division title for the first time after seeing off FC United of Manchester and Hednesford Town, with several loanees contributing.

Hartlepool pair Campbell Darcy and Kian Foreman featured, before Foreman spent the final two months with Spennymoor Town. Sunderland prospects Jake Waters, Dan Cameron and Issac Allan also had spells at the Trustmark Group Stadium as Moore’s side secured promotion to the second tier of the non-league game.

Moore said the club are speaking to many players, including youngsters leaving academies who are trying to find a route back into the system, and he believes Hebburn can help if it benefits all sides.

He noted there are many irons in the fire and that three or four additions may be needed. He added they do not want to rely on loans, but past success and the chance to aid player development mean they will use that route if it works.
