Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has named the manager that he thinks Chelsea should appoint to replace Liam Rosenior.

The latter of course was sacked by The Blues last week, and the search to find a replacement has now begun.

Kaveh believes that former Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso should replace Rosenior as the next Chelsea head coach, despite the fact that he lost the Real Madrid dressing room and was forced out of there by the players. Does that not represent a big risk for Chelsea?

I do think Alonso is the best of the names linked with Chelsea right now, but as with most managers actually, he has a history with players turning on him. That’s a bit of a red flag, but one I could look past. Alonso would be my choice as well.

In words quoted on X this week, Kaveh said:

“The person I would go for would be Xabi Alonso. I think just from the career he’s had as a player, all the massive clubs he’s played for, he’s managed Real Madrid as well.

“He was forced out by the Real Madrid dressing room, but it’s different level of dressing room, even to Chelsea’s, and I think he would immediately command the respect of the Chelsea players. And tactically, I think he’d be brilliant.”

Defender Tosin Adarabioyo has had a lot of criticism lately, but he deserves a lot of credit for his performance on Sunday, which saw him dominate in the air against Leeds.
