FC Barcelona now seem fully set to complete their final round of transfers this summer. Over the last few hours, the Catalan giants have made exceptional progress in terms of reaching key agreements to secure the arrival of two very important players.
The first was Joao Cancelo, who recently terminated his contract with Al-Hilal and Fabrizio Romano confirmed that he would be travelling to Barça shortly. However, another deal that arguably had the entire fanbase on the edge of their seats is now set to be completed as well.
As confirmed by the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano, there is finally a ‘Here we go’ for Rodri to Barcelona. The Manchester City star will be headed to Catalonia this summer, and he will be the biggest signing of this window for La Blaugrana so far.
As per the recent update, Barça’s latest bid for the player has now been approved and the English club has accepted the offer for the Spanish midfielder. The 30-year-old Spaniard will now be the latest name to join the Catalan giants and bolster their squad under Hansi Flick for the upcoming season considering the fact that personal terms have already been agreed with the player.
Following a sensational World Cup campaign with Spain, one in which he won both the title and the award for the tournament’s best player, it now seems likely that he will be joining many of his Spanish teammates at Barcelona. For all parties involved, this is a big summer move.
Previously, Cancelo was the player that Barça secured and it now seems that Rodri will be the next one to follow in an operation that the club seems to have managed to complete under €80 million in totality. Further reports will clarify what the total expenditure was for Rodri, but it is indeed great news that the player’s arrival seems to be more or less guaranteed now.
