Liverpool 1 Newcastle 2 – Sunday 16 March 4.30pm
The photo that Newcastle United fans had all really really wanted to see on Sunday night.
That is, REALLY wanted to see.
Yes, United picking up a shiny trophy.
What a performance as well.
This wasn’t a fluke, a fortunate win.
Wembley saw Newcastle play by far the better game, dominant throughout.
Only a shame we were all forced to go through those nervy final few minutes, as the reality was that Newcastle United could have easily won by three or four.
It was all about character AND quality, Eddie Howe and his players did us proud.
A winning snapshot post-match.
Another photo = The twenty first of this season.
The Newcastle United Head Coach introduced this tradition of a post-match everybody included photo following each victory, as he felt it had worked as a bonding exercise when he was at Bournemouth.
(It is actually the twenty third victory of the season for United but for whatever reasons, no winning photo after the win over AFC Wimbledon. Then at the Emirates, I think for sure that no post-match dressing room photo was done due to the fact the Arsenal semi-final tie was only at halfway.)
It is also a massive bonus just how much it winds up fans of certain other clubs and journalists.
‘Look at them, think they have won the Premier League, Champions League… (League Cup!!!) etc etc’
I absolutely love it.
Ten more Premier League games to go, so hopefully many more of these photos to come this season as NUFC aim for Champions League qualification.
