Hertha Berlin ‘to move for’ Toni Lato | OneFootball

Toni Lato has a lucrative offer to leave Mallorca in this transfer window, with Hertha Berlin pushing for his signature. According to Última Hora Mallorca, the German club have tabled a significant package and would hand the former Valencia left-back a prominent role in their effort to return to the Bundesliga quickly.

Hertha finished seventh in Germany’s second tier last season and are seeking the boost to end their stay outside the top flight. They view Lato as the right fit despite his limited involvement at Mallorca. In 25/26 he played only 585 minutes in LaLiga.

Across three seasons at Mallorca he has been behind Johan Mojica, though the club have put the Colombian on the market, which could give Lato a clearer path next term. Even so, talks are at an early stage and the parties must set out their positions, with Lato into the final months of his contract.

Mallorca must decide whether to keep him for a promotion push, mindful he can negotiate freely from 1 January, or to let him seek a move with Hertha the leading suitor. The Berlin side would prefer to sign him as a free agent, otherwise a fee would need to be agreed.

Germany is not his only option, as other overseas clubs are tracking the left-back.
