Rayo Vallecano head coach Iñigo Pérez has moved to reveal his appreciation for the talents boasted by a leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga rivals Barcelona.
Rayo of course made the trip to Catalunya’s capital to face Barcelona just last night.
The capital outfit gave an impressive account of themselves, albeit only to come away with nothing to show for their efforts owing to a 1-0 defeat.
Whilst it was Robert Lewandowski who notched the game’s only goal, Blaugrana teammate Pedri was ultimately named Man of the Match.
The Spanish international was at his brilliant best over the course of the 90 minutes on Monday, keeping alive what has been a wonderful stretch of recent individual form.
And, speaking to the media post-match, the aforementioned Iñigo Pérez could not help but admit his admiration for Pedri’s talents:
“For this match we made a plan to stop Pedri. We tried. We analysed how he plays, how he passes the ball. It makes me happy that he is getting continuity. He knows how to defend, he knows how to attack… It’s a joy to watch him play.”
