He’s only 16 years old! Next Bayern talent auditions for Kompany

For Erblin Osmani, this Thursday should be a date marked in red in his diary. Two days before the Bundesliga classic at Borussia Dortmund, the 16-year-old midfield talent was allowed to train with the FC Bayern professionals for the first time. Behind the opaque curtain at Säbener Strasse, the U17 captain was suddenly standing next to coach Vincent Kompany’s stars – another milestone in his still young career

Osmani, born in 2009, has long enjoyed an excellent reputation at the Bayern campus. The strong six-man impresses with his vision, technique and a fine left foot. It is not without reason that he wears the captain’s armband in the U17s and is also part of the extended circle of the German U17 national team, for which he has already played two international matches

Osmani has made nine appearances in the U17 youth league this season, contributing one goal and four assists. But his development has been faster than that of many players of the same age. He has already made two appearances for the U19s – a clear sign of how highly those in charge rate his potential

The Munich-born player’s path is closely linked to the club. In 2017, he moved from TSV Milbertshofen to the record champions‘ youth academy as an eight-year-old. Since then, he has come through all the youth teams and is regarded internally as one of the most exciting midfield projects of his age group

Interesting fact: David Santos Daiber is another talent from Milbertshofen who has already made the leap to Säbener Straße. The 19-year-old made his Bundesliga debut in December 2025 in the 4-0 win at Heidenheim and played his first professional minutes. An example that shows just how realistic the path from the campus to the Allianz Arena has become

Patience required – clear prospects

For Osmani, training with the professionals is a reward and a motivational boost for the time being. Competition in the squad is fierce at the moment, as almost all outfield players are fit apart from Alphonso Davies. Rotations are rare and the opportunities for youngsters to play are correspondingly limited

Nevertheless, the invitation to professional training fits in with FC Bayern’s strategic orientation. Under Kompany, talented players are repeatedly given the opportunity to show themselves at the highest level. For Osmani, it was his first contact with the speed and intensity of Bundesliga reality

Whether his professional debut will follow soon remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the 16-year-old’s development has put him in the spotlight. And at FC Bayern, they know only too well that great careers sometimes begin with training days like this.
