Hidemasa Morita ‘to join’ Hull as Forest ‘close to agree’ £34m Diomande deal | OneFootball

Leeds United have two summer signings secured and are pursuing more, holding firm on Shea Charles amid a valuation gap with Southampton and keeping tabs on James Trafford and Julian Brandt, whose father visited Thorp Arch.

BBC Radio Humberside reports Hidemasa Morita is set to join Hull City on a free after leaving Sporting CP, with a deal agreed and a medical done. The 31-year-old was linked to Leeds, but club sources dismissed it and his agent was also baffled. He will visit Elland Road in Hull colours.

Fabrizio Romano says Nottingham Forest are close to agreeing a €40m (£34m) package for Sporting centre-back Ousmane Diomande. Diomande briefly featured in Leeds’ centre-back chatter but, as a right-footer, did not fit the profile to replace Pascal Struijk. Leeds have since agreed a £34m deal for Bosnian international Tarik Muharemovic.

If Forest get it over the line in the coming weeks, Diomande could make his competitive debut against Leeds. Daniel Farke’s side open their 2026/27 campaign at the City Ground on Saturday August 22.

The Athletic reports Fulham have opened talks with Real Madrid for striker Gonzalo Garcia, with new head coach Alvaro Arbeloa overseeing the pursuit. Madrid are open to an exit and, while Jose Mourinho is believed to like him, he cannot guarantee a prominent role. Garcia has 13 goals and seven assists in 51 games since 2023, with Fulham light up front after Raul Jimenez left, Wilson joined Leeds and Rodrigo Muniz has been injured.
