Higor de Souza has officially left Benfica after four seasons, bidding farewell in a social media message. According to Glorioso 1904, the Brazil international, a pivot, is expected to continue his career at Barcelona.

In his message, he looked back on standout moments and the trust the club showed during a tough phase of his career. He admitted that no form of farewell felt enough to repay that faith.

He disclosed that he arrived injured, suffered a setback that required his third surgery, and initially struggled to understand the path ahead. He credited Benfica with providing the backing to recover and described the club as a place of healing.

Signed from Palma in 2022, he managed only four appearances in his debut season due to fitness problems. He then became a key figure, helping the futsal side win two Ligas Placard, one Taça da Liga, one Taça de Portugal and one Supertaça.

He rounded off his farewell by saying he leaves with a smile and thanking Portugal and Benfica.
