MIAMI – Ahead of the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup Second Leg encounter in the Quarterfinals between Club América and Nashville SC, we look back at the history of big moments in this tournament at the iconic Estadio Banorte, formerly known as the Estadio Azteca.

The iconic stadium in Mexico City has hosted seven finals in this tournament, with Club América winning five titles, and Cruz Azul taking two. The Mexican sides are undefeated in all seven of the final matches played at the venue.

 Since 2008/09, 30 Champions Cup matches have been played at the venue with 93 combined goals.

The 2021 edition led the way with six games and 21 goals, as Las Aguilas and La Máquina Cementera reached the semifinals, with América falling to CF Monterrey on the road in the Final. 

The last tournament match played at the stadium before undergoing renovations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup was a 1-1 draw between América and CF Pachuca in the First Leg of the 2024 semifinals.
