Kicker reports that Hoffenheim striker Gift Orban is on the verge of being loaned out to Turkey. The Nigerian recently returned from a year-long-loan-out at Hellas Verona. Despite the fact that the Nigerian attacker got off to a good start at his Serie A outfit (seven goals in the first half of the campaign), Orban was only able to score one goal for the relegated club after the turn of the 2026 calendar year.

Hoffenheim have no place for Orban in their current squad constellation. Moreover, the fact that he got into a scuffle with Verona fans late last season didn’t help his reputation. The Kraichgauer remain eager to rid themselves of an unwelcome distraction.

Orban’s performance in the Bundesliga mirrored that of his Serie A. He got off to a solid start after singing on in January 2025, but finished the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign with just four goals after not registering a tally after February 2025.

Hoffenheim set to collect more loan fees for Gift Orban

Hoffeniem paid €9m to acquire Orban from Olympique Lyonnais during the January 2025 transfer window. The Verona loan-deal helped the Bundesliga club recoup part of their investment via a €500,000 loan fee. This time, Kicker reports, Hoffenheim shall collect a €1m loan-fee from newly-promoted Turkish Süper Lit club Amedspor.

Additionally, an obligatory purchase clause has been negotiated. Kicker notes that Orban should permanently move to Turkey once a low-appearance-threshold has been met. Orban will then depart Hoffenheim for a final transfer fee of around €4m.
