Hoffenheim close in on €14m deal for Danish attacker Adam Daghim | OneFootball

Florian Plettenberg reports that Hoffenheim are close to acquiring Danish attacker Adam Daghim. The Bundesliga club are prepared to pay a guaranteed €14 million, with performance-related bonuses potentially increasing the value of the package.

Salzburg must still provide final internal approval before allowing the 20-year-old to leave. The current tendency is nevertheless toward the Austrian club sanctioning the transfer, with the negotiations now approaching their final stages.

Hoffenheim initially submitted an offer worth approximately €9.5 million for Daghim earlier in the transfer window.

Salzburg rejected that proposal, prompting Hoffenheim to significantly improve their terms. The new guaranteed fee represents an increase of approximately €4.5 million before bonuses are taken into account.

Hoffenheim return to Daghim after Sauer pivot

Salzburg’s rejection of the opening offer had initially appeared likely to end Hoffenheim’s pursuit.

The Kraichgauer subsequently turned their attention toward Feyenoord winger Leo Sauer and reached a verbal agreement with the Slovakia international over a contract through 2031. Sauer ultimately ended up signing with Stuttgart.

Sky Germany reported at the time that Hoffenheim intended to sign either Sauer or Daghim rather than both players. Sauer appeared the more natural replacement for departed left winger Bazoumana Touré, while Daghim operated predominantly from the right during his loan spell with VfL Wolfsburg.

The situation has since reversed. Hoffenheim renewed their efforts to sign Daghim and have now moved substantially closer to Salzburg’s valuation.

Daghim spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Wolfsburg, scoring twice in 30 appearances across all competitions. The former AGF academy player was unable to prevent the Wolves from suffering relegation, but Hoffenheim evidently remain convinced of his potential.

The left-footed attacker primarily works on the right flank, though he can also operate from the left or through the centre. His physical profile, versatility and ability to attack space make him a potentially useful option for Christian Ilzer’s forward line.

Hoffenheim have already strengthened the right side of their attack by signing Daghim’s former Wolfsburg teammate Patrick Wimmer. Daghim’s ability to cover several positions may nevertheless enable the two players to each maintain a role in the team.

All indications presently suggest that approval will arrive, placing Daghim on course for another Bundesliga opportunity following his difficult year in Wolfsburg.
