Al Ahli forward Ivan Toney has been named Roshn Saudi League Player of the Month for January 2026 off the back of a stellar run of form in which he scored 12 goals in seven matches to climb to the top of the 2025-26 scoring charts.
The 29-year-old started the new year with a brace in a 3-2 win against Al Nassr and added a second double against Al Taawoun, sandwiched between goals at Al Okhdood and Al Kholood.
Toney then bagged the first of two January hat-tricks in a 4-1 home victory against Al Khaleej, then found the back of the net from the spot away at NEOM Sports Club, before wrapping up an exceptional month with another treble in the 4-0 thrashing of Al Ettifaq.
The former Brentford ace now leads the race for the RSL golden boot, with 18 goals to his name, overtaking Al Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Qadsiah’s Julian Quinones, who are both one back.
Toney was also named ALJ Man of the Match five times during January, placing himself as one of the leading contenders for the Fans’ Player of the Season award. He becomes the first Englishman to be named RSL Player of the Month and the first Al Ahli player to win the award since Roger Ibanez in April 2025.
Deserving part of the credit for Toney’s form, Al Ahli head coach Matthias Jaissle has been named RSL Manager of the Month after guiding the Asian champions to a perfect run of seven wins out of seven.
Al Ahli entered 2026 seven points off top spot, but have ended January with only a three-point gap to Al Hilal, whom they face next on Monday. The fabulous run earned 32-year-old Jaissle the monthly accolade for the second time having previously won it in April 2024.
Al Qadsiah goalkeeper Koen Casteels was named RSL Goalkeeper of the Month, marking the third time he has collected the award after doing so in September and November 2024.
Among current goalkeepers in the division, only Marcelo Grohe (seven) and Yassine Bono (four) have picked up the award more times than the Belgian.
Casteels, the RSL's reigning Goalkeeper of the Season, kept two clean sheets in January, conceding a mere six goals in seven matches and making 18 saves, including a penalty from Al Hilal captain Salem Al Dawsari in the 2-2 draw on Thursday. Al Qadsiah sit fourth, six points off the summit.
Al Shabab winger Hammam Al Hammami celebrated his 22nd birthday in style after being named the RSL Young Player of the Year for January.
Born on January 30th, 2004, Al Hammami started six of Al Shabab’s seven matches this month, racking up 464 playing minutes. During that time, he created six chances, completed 12 dribbles and scored in the 3-2 win against NEOM SC.
This marks the 16th time the award went to an Al Shabab player since its introduction at the beginning of the 2020-21 season, highlighting the club’s legacy of developing young talent as evident by its name, which translates to "The Youth".
Al Hammami follows in the footsteps of Abdullah Al Hamdan (January 2021), Moteb Al Harbi (five times), Mohammed Al Absi (February 2024) and .
