Indeed, the primary hurdle remains the player’s staggering Al-Hilal salary, which sits at approximately €18 million net per season. For the remaining six months of the campaign, there is a balance of roughly €9 million net to be paid. Notably, Inter have made their position clear, offering to cover between €2.5 million and €3 million of that amount.

Consequently, the success of the deal depends largely on Cancelo’s willingness to prioritize a return to elite European football over his current wages. Furthermore, the club is banking on the player’s desire to rejoin a familiar environment where he can prove his worth ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
