The Dutchman has become the Hoops' first signing of the summer.

QPR know that they must get their recruitment spot on this summer if they are to improve on their disappointing 15th-placed finish.

Julien Stephan's side showed glimpses of challenging for the Championship top six, but the reality is that their current cohort is not equipped for such a contest.

However, with eighth place set to earn a place in the play-offs next term, the West London outfit will have renewed optimism ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The Hoops have already made their first signing of the summer in Boy Kemper, and captain Jimmy Dunne has reacted to the news.

With Rhys Norrington-Davies returning to Sheffield United following his loan spell with QPR, the R's were always going to strengthen at left-back ahead of the new season.

Indeed, the Hoops were quick to do so and announced the signing of Kemper from Dutch side NAC Breda, who were relegated to the second tier after finishing second-bottom.

The 27-year-old made 95 appearances for the Dutch outfit and enjoyed the best attacking campaign of his career last term by contributing six goals and four assists in all competitions.

Despite his side's relegation, the former Ajax man was one of his club's better performers and ranked consistently high among all left-backs in the Eredivisie.

Kemper recorded the most headed shots of any player in his position last season and also ranked in the top eight per cent of left-backs for xG, duels won and successful crosses, according to Futmob.

While supporters will be pleased that their club has started business early, it appears Dunne is also chuffed with the arrival of the Dutchman.

Reacting to Kemper's Instagram post, in which he outlines his delight at moving to Loftus Road, the Republic of Ireland International posted a heart-eyes emoji followed by a heart emoji.

Defence is clearly a priority for the R's, and after securing the signing of Kemper, the club must press forward with more reinforcements in the hub of their backline ahead of the new season.

Only bottom-side Sheffield Wednesday leaked more goals than Stephen's side, and if they cannot bolster the hub of their defence, then QPR could fall further down the table.

Another area where the Hoops are short is in goal, with Joe Walsh and Murphy Cooper the only players remaining this summer, although the latter has been linked with a move away from West London.

Goals were not a problem for the West Londoners last term, with their 61 spread across the squad, but they will be hoping that Richard Kone can improve on the 11 he managed in his first season.

How QPR's fans are reacting to Kemper's arrival at Loftus Road

While not many Hoops supporters would have watched the left-back in the Eredivisie last season, they are clearly pleased with the player's arrival in West London.

However, some have joked that QPR CEO Christian Nourry will not be happy that Kemper revealed a particular detail of his move.
