The Black Country derby hasn’t been played since an FA Cup clash on 28 January 2024 in which the Old Gold earned a 2-0 victory at the Hawthorns.

Their last league meeting came on 3 May 2021, with the sides drawing 1-1 at West Brom, with the Baggies suffering relegation to the Championship.

The two clubs will be keen to renew their rivalry in the coming months, and earn a victory to claim local bragging rights.

West Brom’s last win over Wolves was in January 2021 at Molineux, with Albion having the edge in the historic head-to-head, with 11 more victories than their Midlands rivals.

Here we compare the price of a home ticket at the Hawthorns and at Molineux ahead of the new Championship season…

West Brom finished 20th in the Championship table last season, narrowly avoiding relegation in a difficult year for the club.

Ryan Mason was appointed as head coach last summer, but was dismissed midway through the term amid a poor spell of results.

His replacement Eric Ramsay lasted just 44 days in charge, failing to win any of his nine matches as head coach.

James Morrison took over on an interim basis, but a positive run of form led to him becoming the permanent appointment.

West Brom will begin the new campaign with a trip to Norwich City, and their first home game comes a week later against Burnley.

For non-season ticket holders, the cost of a home ticket at the Hawthorns ranges from £32 to £35 for adults.

Tickets for the Smethwick End and Birmingham Road are both £32, while East Lower is £33, and East Upper and the West Stand cost £35.

Wolves are preparing for their first campaign in the Championship since 2018 after they finished 20th in the Premier League table.

Cesar Peixoto was a surprising head coach appointment over the summer, replacing Rob Edwards, and he has been tasked with guiding the club back to the top flight at the first attempt.

The Midlands outfit will begin their season with a home clash against Blackburn Rovers in the opening fixture of the campaign on 14 August.

Peixoto will be looking to get off to winning ways, with the club targeting a top two finish in the Championship.

Following their relegation, Wolves confirmed that the cost of season tickets will be reduced for 2026/27.

Prices range from £549 to £699, which means that it nets out to roughly £24 to £30 for season ticket holders who attend every home fixture in the Championship next season.

No ticket information has yet been released for the cost of non-season ticket holders for league fixtures, although the club are charging £15 for general sale for their EFL Cup clash against Port Vale in August, while season ticket holders only need to pay £12.

So fans can expect general sale tickets for home games in the league to range slightly higher than the £24 to £30 mark.
