Multiple outlets have confirmed that Lois Openda is set to join Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1 ahead of the 2026-27 season in a deal that will benefit Juventus to the tune of around €3m.
According to Sky, Fabrizio Romano and various other sources, Openda is set to leave Juventus after just one season in Turin and is set to join former Milan head coach Paulo Fonseca at Lyon.
According to Saturday’s updates, this will be a straight loan deal with no option or obligation to buy included. Lyon will reportedly pay a fee in the region of €3m to sign Openda on loan for the 2026-27 campaign.

Importantly, Fabrizio Romano reports that Lyon will pay Openda’s salary in full. There had been suggestions earlier this week that Juventus may need to contribute part of the player’s wages in order to facilitate his exit.
This is a deal that is expected to go through in the early stages of next week. For now, Openda is still with the Bianconeri squad and is expected to feature in a pre-season friendly against Standard Liege on Saturday evening, as head coach Luciano Spalletti has no other senior centre-forwards available.
