The 2026 World Cup ended on Sunday with Spain defeating title holders Argentina at East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium. Spain midfielder Fabian Ruiz (30) became the fifth player of the 21st century to win both the World Cup and the Champions League in the same season. The former Napoli man is the only PSG player to have won the World Cup, but many players under Luis Enrique’s tutelage have fared well in America.

With 16 players taking part in the competition under the colours of nine different teams, PSG was the third most represented club in the tournament. But that’s not all, the back-to-back Champions League winners have beaten a World Cup record. Indeed, nine different PSG players (Ousmane Dembélé, Bradley Barcola, Désiré Doué, Achraf Hakimi, João Neves, Nuno Mendes, Gonçalo Ramos, Ibrahim Mbaye and Fabian Ruiz) found the back of the net in America, which is at least two more goals than any other team in a single World Cup.

All three of PSG’s French danger men – Barcola, Doué, Dembélé – made their mark at the World Cup. The former Lyon Academy graduate logged four goal contributions (three goals and one assist), including one against Senegal only two minutes after his introduction.

Doué got on the scoresheet against Norway, won a game-winning penalty against Paraguay and assisted Kylian Mbappé’s opener against Morocco. Ballon d’Or winner Dembélé bagged a remarkable hat-trick against Norway and concluded a World Cup with eight goal contributions (six goals and two assists).
