How the open training session at Tegernsee went | OneFootball

The idyllic mountain backdrop was shrouded in thick clouds as the first fans began to arrive at the sports ground in Rottach-Egern on Monday afternoon. Right up until just before the start of FC Bayern’s first session of their training camp at Tegernsee, the sky poured a deluge of rain onto the pitches where the Munich side will be working on their form for the start of the season over the next four days. However, that didn't stop 2,000 FCB supporters from seizing the opportunity to watch head coach Vincent Kompany’s side in training for the first time as part of their preparations for the new season. Just as training was due to start, the skies cleared, the sun broke through the thick cloud cover and the Bayern fans were in excellent spirits.

Things got off to a flying start on the pitch. Kompany put his players – still without the World Cup participants, the first of whom completed their performance diagnostics tests on Monday and will join up with the squad later this week – through an intense session. After the warm-up, they got straight down to work with the ball. During passing drills and game situations, Kompany and his coaching staff repeatedly urged the players to pick up the pace. They rose to the challenge, treating the fans lining the pitch to some spectacular moments and goals. After the session, the FCB players took time out to sign autographs and pose for selfies with the supporters.

Bayern’s next open training session at Tegernsee is scheduled for 15:30 CEST on Tuesday afternoon. A varied programme of events has been arranged for the fans of the record champions. Please note: Wednesday’s open training session, however, will take place at 10:00 CEST. The Munich men will round off their training camp with a friendly against local side FC Rottach-Egern on Thursday (18:00 CEST). The match will be streamed live and free of charge on fcbayern.com and via the official FC Bayern app.
