Find out how you can follow City's progress on the final day of the World Sevens.

The story so far

The Blues have progressed to the semi-finals alongside Bayern Munich in Group 1 having finished as runners-up behind the German champions.

We began with a 4-0 win over Swedish champions FC Rosengard in the tournament opener, before securing a dramatic sudden death penalty shootout victory over Ajax.

A 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich meant we had to settle for second spot, but we still made the last four, where we'll face Group 2 winners, Manchester United.

Every member of the City squad featured at least once during the group stages, with Kerolin finishing the round with three goals from as many appearances.

Aoba Fujino, meanwhile, was the first player to find the net in the tournament's history against Rosengard, and currently sits on two goals and two assists.

Semi-final: City v United (16:30)

Our clash with our cross-city rivals gets under way at 16:30 (UK), with the match available to watch in full on DAZN.

Coverage of the semi-finals begins at 15:00, with Bayern Munich facing Paris Saint-Germain in the other last four tie.

You can also keep across all the action on the official Man City app, with a match report, match gallery and reaction all available soon after the final whistle.

Match highlights and a CITY+ full-match replay are then published a few hours after full-time.

Third Place Play-off / Final

City will be in action for one final time at the 2025 World Sevens after that United clash, with the time and opponent dependent on our semi-final result.

Should we get the better of United then we will book our spot in the final, which takes place at 20:00 on Friday 23 May.

A semi-final defeat means we instead play in the third place play-off, which gets under way at 18:30.

We'll face either Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich, dependent on the results of both semi-final fixtures and, as mentioned above, the games can be viewed on DAZN with detailed coverage also available on the Man City app.

Tournament rules

Each match will run for 30 minutes in total, split into two 15-minute halves with a five-minute half-time break.

Due to the smaller number of players, the pitch size will be reduced and there will be no offsides, but throw-ins will remain as normal.

There will also be rolling substitutions available, with no limit on the amount that can be made in each game.

Should the match finish level at the end of 30 minutes, then an additional five minutes of extra time will be played to determine a winner.

Both teams will be reduced to five players during that extra time period, with the game over as soon as one of the two sides score in a ‘golden goal’ format.

If they still can’t be separated after that extra time period, then sudden death penalties will be used to determine the winners.
