Barcelona face PSG in a meeting between two European heavyweights in the Champions League
Widely regarded as the two of the best footballing teams in Europe at present, this was a dream Champions League final for many neutrals last season.
However, while PSG overcame Arsenal over two legs in the semi-final, Barcelona were pipped to the post in a thrilling last-four showdown against Inter Milan.
Such is the nature of the competition’s new format, despite both sides being in Pot 1 for the draw, they have been paired together for what promises to be an entertaining bout Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
Barca made an impressive start to their European campaign by beating Newcastle away from home just under a fortnight ago as Marcus Rashford returned to England and delivered a clear reminder of his goalscoring abilties by netting a brace.
As for PSG, they began the defence of their crown by beating Atalanta 4-0 at the Parc des Princes.
The one negative is the absence of newly-crowned Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele as he is sidelined through injury, though the likes of Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi should provide plenty of entertainment.
