Pep Guardiola takes to the Etihad dugout for the final time
Pep Guardiola will take charge of Manchester City for the final time today as he faces Aston Villa at the Etihad.
The Spaniard has enjoyed a highly decorated decade with the club but it has been confirmed that he will step down from his post at the end of this season.
His legacy will be made permanent, though, as City have confirmed plans to name a stand at the Etihad after him, and build him a statue on the grounds.
City’s second-place Premier League finish is a foregone conclusion, with Arsenal already confirmed as champions and cross-town rivals United ten points adrift, meaning this tie is something of a dead rubber.
But Guardiola’s players will want nothing more than to see him off with one last win in front of his adoring supporters.
Meanwhile, you cannot expect too much of Villa in this match. They were crowned Europa League champions midweek after beating Freiburg 3-0 in Istanbul and have been celebrating in style ever since.
Now Champions League qualification is confirmed they have nothing left to play for, and the likes of Morgan Rogers and Ezri Konsa will already have their minds on this summer’s World Cup after they were called up to Thomas Tuchel’s squad on Friday.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on Sky Sports Action, with coverage starting at 2pm BST. All the action from the 10 Premier League games played simultaneously will be shown live across Sky Sports’ various channels.
