Pep Guardiola could field several new signings in first Group G contest in Philadelphia
Manchester City could introduce a number of debutants as they begin their Club World Cup campaign against Wydad AC in Philadelphia this evening.
Rayan Cherki has drawn significant attention recently following his £30million move from Lyon.
The 21-year-old playmaker impressed with a scintillating performance off the bench in France’s thrilling 5-4 Nations League semi-final defeat by Spain earlier this month.
Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Aït-Nouri are also in contention after joining City from AC Milan and Wolves respectively.
Pep Guardiola’s squad is missing injured midfielder Mateo Kovacic, while Kyle Walker, Jack Grealish and James McAtee were not named in the travelling party for the Club World Cup, the latter captaining England’s Under-21s at the European Championship in Slovakia.
As for Wydad AC, they are the most decorated club in Moroccan football history, with 22 league titles to their name.
