Premier League winners aiming for first European Cup triumph against holders in Budapest
The Gunners travel to Budapest soaring with confidence after celebrating their first Premier League title win for 22 years, with their eyes now firmly fixed on achieving a memorable major trophy double.
Arsenal have never previously won the Champions League, with their only final appearance to date in 2005/06 ending in an agonising 2-1 defeat by Barcelona in Paris under Arsene Wenger.
Despite their long-awaited domestic success, Mikel Arteta’s men will be the underdogs at the Puskas Arena as they come up against a formidable PSG team who are hoping to become only the second club in the Champions League era to win back-to-back titles and first since Real Madrid in 2018.
The French giants finally claimed Europe’s biggest club prize for the first time on their second appearance in the final by thrashing Inter Milan 5-0 in Munich last year, completing a historic quadruple as part of six trophies won in total in 2025.
This season, Luis Enrique’s side have already won Ligue 1 for the fifth time in a row as well as lifting the Trophee des Champions, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
PSG defeated Arsenal in the semi-finals of the Champions League last season, winning 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium thanks to Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele, before a nervy 2-1 triumph on home soil.

Live stream: TNT Sports subscribers can watch the action live online via the HBO Max app and website.
