Wes Morgan has weighed in on Leicester City's Championship relegation struggles
Leicester City legend Wes Morgan has weighed in on the Foxes' Championship relegation battle.
Morgan captained Leicester to their historic Premier League title triumph in 2015/16, and was also a member of the Foxes squad who won the 2021 FA Cup.
A decade on from their top-flight fairy tale, the King Power Stadium club are set to be relegated from the Championship to League One, having played in the Premier League just last season.
The Foxes have been deducted six points for breaching financial rules, but they would be in the relegation zone even without that penalty, epitomising their struggles.

Leicester's defeat to relegation rivals Portsmouth on Saturday was a huge dent to their survival chances, and extended their winless run to six Championship games.
The Foxes' relegation battle has been one of the biggest stories in the EFL this term, as the King Power Stadium outfit began the season with aspirations of landing an immediate Premier League return.
Leicester still have many players who represented them in the top flight in their squad, including former England midfielder Harry Winks and ex-Fulham man Bobby De Cordova Reid.
Foxes right-back Ricardo Pereira, meanwhile, was widely deemed as one of the Premier League's best full-backs when the East Midlands outfit landed consecutive top-five finishes under Brendan Rodgers' management.
Discussing his former side's current struggles on Tuesday's edition of talkSPORT Breakfast, Morgan said: "When you look on the team sheet, there’s a lot of good players with experience, Premier League experience.
"You’d think there’s enough there to get them out of trouble, to actually be challenging for promotion, but it’s not been the case. The players have been underperforming, that’s clear to see.
"The manager’s not been able to get the best out of the players, and they find themselves in a position where, all of a sudden, they’re in the relegation zone, they’re in a relegation dogfight, and over the last few weeks, they’ve not been able to find that extra spark to kick on and get out of trouble.
"They’re actually in a position where it’s looking like it’s almost over."
Leicester began the Championship campaign under the stewardship of former Queens Park Rangers boss Marti Cifuentes, who had a strong reputation, thanks to his performances in West London.
However, Cifuentes was sacked by the Foxes in January, having left them 14th in the second tier, six points adrift of the play-off places, albeit before their six-point deduction.
The Spaniard was replaced by Gary Rowett, who successfully kept Oxford United in the Championship last season, and appeared to be the correct appointment in the current circumstances, thanks to those relegation-evading exploits.
However, as alluded to by Morgan, Rowett has been unable to get a tune out of the Leicester squad, and the Foxes are set to play in League One next term.

Leicester captured the imaginations of the footballing world when they won the Premier League title in 2016, just two years on from winning promotion to the top flight.
A rich chapter in the Foxes' history didn't end there, though, as they went on to reach the Champions League quarter-finals in 2017 and lift the FA Cup in 2021.
Their current Championship relegation struggles are a stark contrast from those glory days, and the King Power Stadium club need a major rebuild to help shape a better future.
