Hradecky’s display underpinned Monaco’s result, the goalkeeper producing saves, including a superb stop, on his return from injury. Head coach Pocognoli was vindicated for starting him again.
He made two decisive stops before the break and three more after, beaten only from close range by Gouiri. According to Nice-Matin, he was rated eight.
Kehrer and Zakaria took sevens, solid in the air, though a mix-up let Gouiri score. Kehrer was booked for a tackle on Paixao. Faes, also a seven, was rugged and reliable.
Teze, another seven, crossed superbly for Golovin to score on 59 minutes and later cleared off the line. Mawissa, preferred to Adingra, held his flank and tackled Weah on 55 minutes.
Camara mixed spark and waste but logged nine recoveries. Coulibaly shadowed Hojbjerg before Bamba replaced him on 65 minutes. Akliouche helped create the opener, then departed for Adingra on 84 minutes.
Golovin finished tidily, then went off for Fati on 75. Balogun, a seven, battled and scored with a deft lob before Biereth came on at 84 and could have sealed it. The coach was rated eight after his side improved in the second half, the match seven and the referee six.
