HSV winter signing Albert Grønbæk has suffered a fascia injury and is expected to be out for a few weeks, the club said in a statement.

The Danish winger sustained the problem in training, with examinations at the Athleticum in Volkspark confirming the issue. MRI scans on Wednesday, 11 February at HSV’s training centre in Volkspark pinpointed the affected area in his right thigh.

The 24-year-old only joined at the tail end of the January transfer window, arriving on loan from Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes.

As a result, he will have to wait a little longer to make his Bundesliga debut.

Hamburg also wished Grønbæk a speedy recovery.
