Alfie May is set to depart Huddersfield Town in favour of a move to Doncaster Rovers, which would bring an end to a brief spell with the Terriers.
Huddersfield Town are set for an interesting summer ahead, with the Terriers looking to make a serious push for promotion back into the Championship next season.
They finished ninth in the third-tier standings last term, and will know that they can certainly improve on that, having hit a poor run of form during the second-half of the 2026/26 campaign.
Martin Drury will be well aware of the expectations set for him, with this being Huddersfield's third successive season in League One, and the club's supporters have every reason to feel slightly frustrated with the lack of progress they're making in their efforts to return to the Championship.
It's likely that Drury will be busy during the summer transfer window, particularly if players are to depart before the new season gets underway in August.
Alfie May is one of those that looks set to leave Huddersfield Town in the near future, with journalist, Pete O'Rourke revealing that the forward is set to join Doncaster Rovers.

May signed for Huddersfield back in 2025 from Birmingham City, and has made 40 appearances in total in his time with the Terriers in the third-tier.
Football League World's Huddersfield Town fan pundit, Graeme Rayner reacted to the news of May's seemingly imminent departure from the club, and
"Is Alfie May going to Doncaster Rovers a surprise? Yes, and no. I think yes in the level of club that he would normally consider joining. They're in League One, but they're not really a club that will be challenging (for promotion) next season. Whereas we hopefully will be.
"However, he didn't have a great season, and it's since been revealed in the press that he's had an absolutely horrific time off the pitch with family issues.
"Maybe he just wants a fresh start, and obviously he's been at Donny before, and he knows the team. If that's the case, it might be best for everyone if we're getting a fee for him, and he's a big earner then fair play, let's get him off the books I suppose."

May scored seven goals and was on hand to provide seven assists for his Huddersfield Town team-mates, and the former Birmingham City man will feel as though he could have scored more, especially given his eye-catching record in League One.
Rayner went on to wish May well with his move to Doncaster Rovers, and admitted that he wouldn't be at all surprised to see May coming back to haunt Huddersfield in the future.
"Good luck to him, and I hope he does well, but not against us! The way football is, he'll suddenly find his shooting boots when he plays against us, probably home and away, but that's football. I wish him the best of luck. He hasn't had a great season, and it was frustrating at times, but the reasons have become abundantly clear since then."
Plenty of Huddersfield Town fans have taken to social media to issue their own thoughts on May's rumoured exit to Doncaster Rovers this summer.
