Huddersfield Town are set to appoint Martin Drury as their new boss, with Jon Stead to continue as his assistant.
Huddersfield Town are gearing up for a huge summer as they look to win promotion from League One next season.
The Terriers have endured a difficult few years since US businessman Kevin Nagle bought the club, even if he has invested in the Yorkshire outfit.
However, they failed to reach the play-offs last season, with the decision to appoint Lee Grant backfiring. His successor, Liam Manning, was granted compassionate leave in March, with Martin Drury and Jon Stead leading the team for the run-in.
With Manning’s permanent departure confirmed following the end of the season, attention for Huddersfield has switched to naming a new head coach.

And, it appears the club have made progress on that front, as reporter Pete O’Rourke has revealed that Drury and Stead are set to continue on a permanent basis.
He explains that 40-year-old Drury will be the main man, with ex-player Stead to carry on as his assistant moving forward.
The duo were in charge for the final seven League One games of the season, with Huddersfield only suffering one defeat in that period, although they did draw four times.
Nagle has previously interacted with fans on social media, where he stated that a ‘thorough process’ was taking place in a bid to name the new boss, as he suggested a decision would be made this week.
And it looks as though Drury has been selected as the man to take the club forward, having only managed Bradford Park Avenue in his senior career - albeit he has been a coach at Brentford, Valencia, West Brom, Bradford City, and was a youth manager at Man United.
Obviously, with a huge summer transfer window facing the Terriers, it’s crucial that they get a new manager in place as quickly as possible, as some major decisions will need to be made about the playing squad.
There’s no getting away from the fact that this won’t go down well with a section of the support, and, in fairness, you can understand why.
Drury has no experience as a manager at this level, and whilst Huddersfield did well under his guidance during the final part of the season, it’s a very, very small sample size.
Given the budget and quality of players at Huddersfield, it’s a very attractive job by League One standards, so there would’ve been some big names interested in the role.

Ultimately, though, Huddersfield fans have to trust Nagle on this one. He has seen the work that Drury and Stead have done on a day-to-day basis, and he will have a feel of how they can improve the group.
Now, it’s about backing them in the market, as whoever was in charge was going to need support to reshape the squad and address a few issues in the group.
Drury will be eager to get to work, and he will hope for a productive window and a fast start to ensure he can get the full backing of the fans, as he looks to be the man to take Huddersfield back to the Championship.
