Hugo Souza has joined Brazil's squad for the final friendlies before the World Cup, with France and Croatia to come. He reported on Tuesday as preparations continue for the tournament.
According to Meu Timao, he was called up by Carlo Ancelotti after Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker withdrew injured. The coach also named Ederson of Fenerbahçe and Bento of Al-Nassr, while Flamengo's Under-20 keeper Léo Nannetti will bolster training.
Brazil face France on 26 March at 17:00 Brasília time at Gillette Stadium in Boston, United States. They then meet Croatia on 31 March at 21:00 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
The call-up rules Hugo out of Corinthians' next Brasileirão match. The club has decided that neither he nor midfielder André Carrillo, selected by Peru, will be included for the Fluminense game on 1 April.
Since Ancelotti took charge, Hugo has made all four squads, starting only once, a 3-2 defeat to Japan on 14 October. He was cut from the following November list due to injury.
This is the final camp before the definitive World Cup list, which is expected to be announced on 18 May, shortly before departure to the United States, where Brazil will seek a sixth world title.
