Corinthians beat Bragantino 2-0 at the Neo Química Arena in the third round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, with Hugo Souza saving a second-half penalty as Gabriel Paulista and Matheus Bidu scored.

According to Globo.com, Hugo Souza, Matheus Bidu and Gabriel Paulista stood out in the ratings. Before the break, Yuri Alberto had the clearest openings but could not convert, Matheus Pereira misplaced a pass at 34 minutes that gifted a chance, and Matheus Bidu was booked.

Within the first minute after half-time, Gabriel Paulista headed in from a Garro corner. Gustavo Henrique then conceded a penalty for handball, but at 13 minutes Hugo Souza saved to preserve the lead.

Garro improved markedly after the interval, threading the pass for Yuri Alberto whose shot was parried, leaving Bidu to finish for the second. Allan provided spark off the bench, while Charles won his midfield duels.

Memphis Depay struggled to impose himself despite a better second half, and Carrillo offered little intensity. Vitinho arrived late and missed a one-on-one, then fired a free-kick narrowly wide, while late changes Kayke and Gui Negão had little time. Dorival Júnior kept faith with his starting line-up at half-time and saw his side control the second period.
