The Blues have lost their last three league games, and are in desperate need of three points as they look to qualify for the Champions League.

Liam Rosenior is under huge pressure, and with a protest planned against the ownership before the game a positive result is paramount.

Paul Merson makes Chelsea vs Manchester United prediction

Chelsea currently sit sixth, four points behind Liverpool who occupy the final Champions League place, with just six games remaining.

The Blues are still without Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah, whilst Levi Cowill is now back in full training having suffered an ACL injury before the start of the season.

Co-Owner Behdad Eghbali has publicly backed Rosenior, but over the last five games only Tottenham and Chelsea have taken less points.

United only have one fit centre back in Ayden Heaven, something Chelsea need to take advantage of, and Merson has given his prediction.

“Chelsea were atrocious of the highest level in the second half against Manchester City, luckily for them, they now face Manchester United, who were also terrible in the loss to Leeds!” he told Sportskeeda.

“This is a must-not-lose game for United and a must-win game for Chelsea, if they lose this game I don’t see them playing Champions League football next season.

“I would be shocked if Enzo Fernandez is not back in the line-up for this game.

“I still can’t get my head around the fact that Chelsea banned him for two matches! They were crying out for someone like him to get on the ball and pass to break lines during the defeat to City.

“Chelsea could be ninth in the league by the end of the week, if they don’t win this game. I actually think they can trouble United. Backing Chelsea to get a win!

“Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Manchester United.”
