Gordon Dalziel does not believe Rangers would be able to lure Sean Dyche to Ibrox this summer and expects to see Danny Rohl continue as boss.
Despite managing a steady recovery following a disastrous start under Russell Martin, Rangers have failed to challenge for the Scottish Premiership title.
Rohl has overseen a remarkable collapse since the split, with Rangers losing every one of their four games, while the German boss also fell out with James Tavernier ahead of what was slated to be his final outing at Ibrox.
The situation does not bode well for the Rangers manager, who has been criticised for not being able to bring in a discernible style of football.
While the manager himself has sounded confident about his future at Ibrox, the rumours have refused to die down.

Journalist Roger Hannah believes that when the post-season review happens, the factor that will go against the manager is his inability to capitalise on opportunities.
Dyche is one manager who has regularly been linked with Rangers and the experienced boss is out of work.
He would be an eye-catching appointment for Rangers as they look to get back on track, but Dalziel does not feel that will happen.
Dalziel is of the view that Dyche has his eye on taking a job in English football rather than going to Scotland.

“As much as Rangers are a massive attraction, Dyche was mentioned before as well”, Dalziel said on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard (21.27).
“And I don’t think there is any opportunity [for him to go to Rangers].
“I think he sees a club in England for him just now.”
Dalziel, who feels the Rangers board do not want to part ways with Rohl, expects the German to stay in charge.
“I might be wrong, but I think Danny Rohl will be in charge of Rangers next year.”
Given how poor Rangers have been since the split, if Rohl does stay in charge then he will start next season under huge pressure.
Rangers will also not be in the Champions League qualifiers this summer, given they will finish third.
