Romeo Lavia played his first minutes at Stamford Bridge since October today, and at full time his return was one of the few positives that Liam Rosenior was able to talk about.
“He’s an outstanding player, and I felt he had the quality to play between the lines and help us unlock a deep lying defence,” Rosenior said of the Belgian.
Sadly, Lavia’s passing wasn’t able to add anything to Chelsea’s stagnant attack.
The coach also had to explain his logic in taking off Moises Caicedo for the midfielder:
“Moi was on a yellow card and he’s played a lot of football. We’ve got another game on Tuesday. So I felt it was a natural change to make. It was great to see him back out on the pitch and he can help us with what we want to achieve.”
“We’ve just got to go for it” was his conclusion on how his team needed to approach that second leg against PSG, which the Blues come into with 5-2 deficit

Rosenior also summed up Chelsea’s issues by saying they could be contained in two main “aspects.”
The manager also got sidetracked talking about the ridiculous pre-match huddle situation.
