“I have their full trust”: Rosenior says he has Chelsea board backing despite four straight league defeats | OneFootball

Liam Rosenior has insisted he retains the full backing of the Chelsea board despite recent results.

Chelsea have lost four consecutivePremier League games to fall adrift in the race for Champions League football. It's the club's worst run of results in the Premier League since March 1998 and leaves the Blues seven points from the top five.

Chelsea return to action at Brighton tomorrow, with Rosenior's position under scrutiny. The head coach only arrived from Strasbourg in January but has struggled for consistent results.

Despite the external noise around his position, Rosenior has said he has the 100% trust of the Blues' board.

"100%. They have been supportive of me and our daily conversations have been supportive,"he said at his pre-match press conference.

"We know we want to win games of football in the now, but that doesn't go against the fact we want success and consistent success in the long-term.

"It's about being open. It's about seeing where I made mistakes, where we have made mistakes, where we need to improve and having open, honest and challenging conversations to make the process better.

"If you're not honest, you don't hold your hands up to mistakes, you're never going to improve.

"I have made mistakes, I am going to make mistakes, more mistakes. Every coach does. With the guys here, how they support me, we all want success for the club. The less mistakes the better.

"The players understand we are all aligned in what we want to achieve. We have to win. That is what this club demands and rightfully so and that is what the fans expect. It is about winning football. That is what football is about. You can't speak about long-term if you aren't doing the job in the short-term.

"Being really respectfully honest here, we haven't done well in recent games and that is on my shoulders as the head coach of the team."
